MEMPHIS, TN – Today, an energized crowd of approx. 100 supporters, community leaders, and volunteers gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the Lowery for 901 campaign headquarters. Located at 3163 Poplar Avenue, the new hub marks a major milestone in Commissioner Mickell Lowery’s bid for Shelby County Mayor, signaling the start of a high-energy, grassroots phase of the campaign.

The afternoon event featured music, refreshments, and a clear message from Lowery: this campaign belongs to the people of Shelby County.

“Opening this office is about creating a home for the work we have to do together,” said Commissioner Mickell Lowery. “I’m running for Mayor because I believe Shelby County is at a generational turning point. We have a real opportunity to build a county that is safer, more affordable, and accessible for every family. From this building, we will organize every neighborhood and make sure every voice is part of our plan to move forward.”

During his remarks, Lowery doubled down on his core pillars: public safety with accountability, expanded economic opportunity, and a transformative investment in universal pre-K. He emphasized that a strong county starts with a foundation for its youngest citizens and real support for working parents.

“I’ve said from the beginning that the Mayor’s job is about results, not rhetoric,” Commissioner Lowery continued. “The doors to this headquarters are now officially open for anyone who wants to take action. We are working on building a government that is transparent, efficient, and focused on the people it serves. That work starts right here in this room today.”
